Dr. Sharon D. Scallion-Barrera, a dedicated advocate for children and educators, has spent over two decades empowering individuals to foster positive behavior and learning outcomes in young learners. As the founder of Challenging Behavior Caddies, Dr. Scallion-Barrera brings her extensive experience and visionary leadership to address the unique challenges faced by educators and caregivers.
Prior to founding Challenging Behavior Caddies, Dr. Scallion-Barrera established Traits of a Child, a mobile training agency that has trained thousands of educators and leaders over the past 17 years. She also founded Multi-Intelligence Kids College, an inclusive early childhood center that caters to children of all abilities, including those with disabilities.
Dr. Scallion-Barrera's passion for early childhood education and her commitment to creating supportive learning environments have made her a respected leader in the field. Through her work with Challenging Behavior Caddies, she continues to provide valuable resources and support to educators, empowering them to create positive and inclusive classrooms.
Dr. Scallion-Barrera’s journey in education began with Traits of a Child Early Childhood Training and Consulting Agency, her first venture, established nearly two decades ago. With a vision “To Reach Out and Teach All,” Traits of a Child is a mobile training agency that has empowered thousands of educators and leaders to refine their teaching and leadership practices. Through workshops and hands-on training sessions, Dr. Scallion-Barrera has provided invaluable support to educators, helping them meet the diverse needs of their students and build inclusive classrooms.
Driven by her desire to directly impact the lives of young children, Dr. Scallion-Barrera founded Multi-Intelligence Kids College, LLC in September 2023. This innovative early childcare center welcomes children from ages 6 weeks to 13 years, including those with disabilities and those who have previously struggled to find supportive childcare environments. The center’s purpose is to create an inclusive, adaptive learning space where each child’s unique needs are met with care and expertise. With the founding of Challenging Behavior Caddies, Dr. Scallion-Barrera continues her mission, creating specialized curriculum and resources to support teachers and caregivers as they address challenging behaviors in young children. These behavior caddies are designed to address the individual needs of students. There are three significant stages in helping children change their behavior, R.E.G.U.L.A.T.E and reteach appropriate ways to manage their emotions, and reconnect their relationships with teachers and peers, both indoors and outdoors.
